Friday 23rd November, just two days before the International day for the elimination of violence against women, POUR LA SOLIDARITÉ – PLS officially launched the Belgian CEASE network in Brussel!
17 companies and organisations from both public and private sector responded to the call and signed the Commitment Charter of companies against domestic violence.
Amongst the signatories : PLS, DIESIS, Smart, the Brussels Regional Public Service, Amnesty, SPIE, Actiris, Ethias, the ONEM, the Centrale de Services à Domicile, the Mission locale de Bruxelles-Ville, the Municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, the OFFA, the SPF Affaire Étrangères, Bruxelles Fiscalité, FOR.E.T. asbl.
In Belgium, 72,9% of people experiencing domestic violence declare it has an impact of their work (Source : IEFH, 2017) :
- They are tired (30,7%), distracted (29%), sick (21,2%) and more often absent (40,8%).
- They need to take time off work for medical appointment (37,1%), housing search (15,4%), psychological support (13,1%) or assist to court hearing (12,7%).
Next step : involve all these signatories in the training module designed through the CEASE project and have their feedbacks !
