Activities implemented to fight gender-based violence (in english)
The committee’s main areas of activities focus on three directions.
1. The committee and the State
The committee monitors the application of Law by the concerning Service of Labor Ministry and Social Insurances (the Department of Labor) and has an advisory role in regard to: the formation or the revision of national policy regarding its scope of filed, the import or revision of relative legislation and the adoption of measures and the application of programs for promotion of gender equality in its field of competence.
2. The committee and the promotion of relative knowledge
It promotes the conduct of studies and researches, collects statistical values and submits reports and proposals to the Minister of Work and Social Insurances.
3. The committee and the public
It submits self-appointed complaints, and accepts complaints which are forwarded in turn, to the Chief-Inspector (Director) of the Department of Labor for investigation. The department of Labor is responsible to inform the Committee about the outcome of the investigation.
It provides advice and information, free of charge, to any interested party concerning gender equality issues in employment and vocational training.
It provides legal aid, free of charge, to victims of discriminative behaviour.
